WE BELIEVE in the inspiration, authority, and inerrancy of the Holy Scriptures. The Bible is the divinely authoritative Word of God and is the holy standard by which we should live. The Bible is without error and was written by “men moved by the Holy Spirit”. “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work”.
(Mark 12:26; 13:11; Luke 24:27, 44; John 5:39; Acts 1:16; 17:2-3; 18:28; 26:22-23; 28:23; Rom 15:4; 1 Cor 2:13; 10:11; 2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet 1:21)
WE BELIEVE that God eternally exists as three distinct persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three are one God, and He is the only true God. The persons of the Trinity are distinct and have different functions, however they are one not only in agreement, perfect harmony, unity and purpose, but also one in essence and being.
(Gen. 1:1,2; Ex 3:14; Job 36:26; Psa. 90:2, 4; Matt. 28:18-19; Mark 12:29; John 1:1-3, 14; 8:58; 1 Cor. 8:6; 2 Cor. 13:14; Col 1:16-17; Heb. 1:1-4; Rev. 1:4-8; 4:8.)
WE BELIEVE that all humanity was created in the image of God. Through the Fall of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, all mankind has inherited sin and is counted as guilty. “Through one transgression there resulted condemnation to all men”. We are all sinners in need of a Savior. (Genesis 1 – 3; Rom 1:18-20; 3:10-12, 23; 5:12-21; Eph 2:1-3; 1 John 3:8)
WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ in the flesh was fully God and fully man. He was tempted (just as we are tempted), but He never sinned. When the perfect time came (planned and ordained by the Father), Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, gave His life freely, suffered on the cross, died, was buried, and rose again on the third day. He ascended to heaven forty days after the resurrection, and He will physically return one day.
(Matt 4:1-11; Matt 26:36 – Matt 28:8; Luke 24:50-51; John 1:1-3,14; John 10:17-18; 14:2-3; Acts 1:3, 9-11; Acts 2:23; Phil 2:6-8; Heb 4:15; James 1:13-17; I Peter 2:22-24)
WE BELIEVE in the substitutionary atonement of Jesus Christ. God loved us so much that He sent His one and only son, Jesus Christ, to be the perfect sacrificial lamb to take away our sin. Jesus shed His precious blood and bore our sin upon Himself in order to provide forgiveness of our sin. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”.
(John 3:16, 36; Rom 3:19-28; 4:1-8; 5:1,9-10; 8:1; 2 Cor 5:18-21; Col 1:21-22; Titus 2:14; Heb 4:15; 9:22; 1 Peter 1:18-19; 1 John 1:8-10; 2:2; 4:10)
WE BELIEVE that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone (sola fide). There is absolutely nothing that we can do to earn our salvation. “There is none righteous, not even one”. Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation.
(Matt. 26:28; John 3:7-18; 14:6; Acts 4:12; Rom 3:10; 5:6-9; 2 Cor 5:21; Gal 3:13; Eph 1:7; Phil 3:4-9; Titus 3:5-6; 1 Pet 1:18-19)
WE BELIEVE that the central theme of the Gospel is the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Gospel message is important and powerful because of the resurrection of Jesus. Since Jesus was raised from the dead, we have the blessed hope, guarantee and confidence that we will also be raised from the dead. Jesus Christ will physically return to earth to reign, rule, set everything right, and renew all things. All those who have put their faith in Christ look forward to the New Heaven and New Earth which is a culmination of God’s plan of recreation (redemption). We will live, reign and rule with Him throughout eternity. As believers, we should live with a heavenly perspective to love people well. “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” And, we should focus on the Great Commission. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
